Tom Curry is the owner of Lowcountry Paver, and founder of Curry family brands, which includes Lowcountry Paver, Lowcountry Turf, CurryCrete Ready Mix, Curry Disposal, LCP Logistics & American Roof Experts. A graduate of Rutgers University, Tom earned a BS in Accounting with a minor in marketing at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
Tom worked full time while attending college full time. During college, Tom began cutting grass as a way to pay his bills. This was the beginning of his entrepreneurial career. That company turned into a large Union landscape, site contracting and home building business serving New Jersey, Delaware and Philadelphia area.
At 33 years old, Tom sold his construction company and purchased Lowcountry Block, LLC in Hardeeville SC which he converted to Lowcountry Paver, specializing in concrete hardscape products instead of concrete block. Under his leadership, the company has become one of the very few privately owned hardscape product manufacturers in the USA as well as a powerhouse in the Southeast.

Tom is deeply engaged with, and believes in, giving back to the local community. He was on the Board of Directors for Make-A-Wish Foundation, Special Olympics, Palmetto Animal League and his own foundation, The Curry Foundation, providing financial help to cancer patients. He also supports the police and first responders. The Curry Family Brands of companies believes in “Buy Local” and supports as many local businesses as possible, injecting dozens of millions of dollars into the local economy every year.
Through volunteer efforts and sponsorship of local events, Tom contributes to enhancing the quality of life in the Lowcountry region.
Tom is married to his beautiful wife and college sweetheart since 1994. Together they have wonderful boys. Tom is a pilot, boat captain, certified advanced scuba diver, and former ski instructor. He enjoys spending time with his family, nature and wildlife. He is an advocate for outdoor activities and sustainable living, often incorporating eco-friendly practices in both his personal and professional life.
Matthew Curry has been passionate about business for as long as he can remember. Growing up, he worked alongside his father, learning the ropes at an early age and discovering the value of hard work, dedication, and integrity. Those early experiences didn’t just teach him the basics of running a business—they instilled a love for entrepreneurship and a deep respect for the family legacy they were building.
As the President and CEO of CurryCrete Ready Mix and Curry Disposal, Matthew leads companies that have become trusted partners in the concrete supply and waste disposal industries. His focus has always been on delivering high-quality products, exceptional service, and innovative solutions that meet the unique needs of their customers. Every day, he works to ensure CurryCrete and Curry Disposal uphold the high standards they’ve set and continue to grow as leaders in the region.
Beyond CurryCrete and Curry Disposal, Matthew serves on the Board of Directors for Curry Family Brands, the parent company for several businesses, including Lowcountry Paver, Lowcountry Turf, LCP Logistics, and American Roof Experts. When he’s not at work, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family, embracing the outdoors, and taking full advantage of everything the Lowcountry has to offer. Whether it’s taking the boat out, flying, or finding new ways to stay active, he prioritizes recharging and staying connected with the people and places that matter most.
Christopher’s journey with the company began at the age of 12, spending his summers working in the yard and learning the value of hard work. As the company grew, so did Christopher, taking on new roles and adapting to every challenge along the way.
In 2020, amidst the uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic, Christopher stepped up as a customer service representative to support the team during staffing shortages. His dedication soon led him to the night shift at the paver plant, all while finishing his senior year of high school.
After graduating, Christopher transitioned into the accounting department, where he sharpened his skills and gained invaluable experience. Today, as the head of Curry Disposal, Christopher draws on his diverse background and unwavering work ethic to lead the company into the future.
Steven Vega brings a passion for excellence and a commitment to customer success as the President of Lowcountry Paver. Although his early years were marked by frequent moves due to his father’s service in the Marine Corps, Steven has spent most of his life in the Lowcountry, a region he proudly calls home.
Steven holds a Master’s degree in Marine Science from the University of South Carolina, but his heart has always been in business. In 2018, he joined Lowcountry Paver as a sales professional after being inspired by the owner’s President’s Letter, which emphasized a dedication to quality and excellence. Rising to the role of President, Steven continues to uphold the company’s mission of delivering premium hardscape products while treating customers like family.
For Steven, the greatest reward comes from helping others succeed. He takes pride in supporting his customers as they grow their businesses, finding fulfillment in their shared achievements.
When he’s not leading the team, Steven enjoys spending time with his wife, Sarah, and their two daughters, Bradley and Molly.
Cheryl LaMar has been a dedicated member of the Lowcountry Paver team for nearly a decade. After moving to the South 10 years ago, Cheryl quickly found a home within the company and the community.
Beginning as a Customer Service Representative, Cheryl has grown to become the Vice President of Lowcountry Paver, one of the Curry Family Brands. Her journey reflects a lifelong passion for helping others and an unwavering commitment to excellence. With extensive experience in the customer service industry—ranging from early roles in the fast-food sector to working with children and adults in early education—Cheryl brings a unique perspective and leadership to her role.
Cheryl values teamwork and thrives on solving challenges as they arise, always striving for continuous improvement. Joining Lowcountry Paver was a natural fit due to the company’s family-oriented culture and the accessibility of its leadership. Working for a family-owned and operated business, where the owner is actively involved, has been a rewarding experience.
Outside of work, Cheryl focuses on faith, family, and the great outdoors. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Ron, spoiling her grandchildren, and finding joy in nature.
Jimmy Babits is the Concrete Block and Paver Plant Manager at Lowcountry Paver, where he is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, production, and quality control of the plant. With a strong background in the concrete manufacturing industry, Jimmy is dedicated to ensuring high standards of efficiency, safety, and product excellence.
A skilled manager, Jimmy continuously seeks innovative solutions to improve plant performance, streamline processes, and meet the growing demands of the market. His leadership fosters a collaborative environment that drives both productivity and customer satisfaction.
In his personal time, Jimmy is passionate about fast cars, particularly his 800 HP Mustang GT, as well as Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also enjoys boating, embracing the opportunity to spend time on the water whenever possible.
Bethany is a dedicated roofing professional with a deep commitment to her community and a passion for helping others. With a background in wellness and meal planning, she spent five years running her own business, helping people achieve their health goals. This focus on service and making a positive impact on people’s lives has always been at the heart of her work.
Bethany’s journey into roofing began when she needed her own roof replaced. Kevin Paige leads the marketing strategy and implementation for all Curry Family Brands, including Lowcountry Paver, Lowcountry Turf, CurryCrete, Curry Disposal, and American Roof Experts. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration – Marketing from the University of South Carolina Beaufort, Kevin brings a rich background in marketing to the team.
Before joining Curry Family Brands in 2023, Kevin gained valuable experience in the hospitality industry and in selling the very tools he now uses to craft impactful marketing strategies and campaigns. This diverse expertise has given him a comprehensive understanding of effective marketing and its implementation.
Kevin is passionate about building and fostering relationships, aligning perfectly with the Curry Family Brands’ focus on community and collaboration.
In his free time, Kevin can be found fly fishing for redfish on the water or spending time with his two bird dogs, Ruca and Rae.
